| International Orthoptic Association Research AwardExcellence in Orthoptic Research: The IOA Research Award is presented at every IOA Congress for the most outstanding research paper and presentation given by an orthoptist. The objective of this award is to promote the science of orthoptics internationally by furthering the study of orthoptics and its related disciplines. Eligibility: To be eligible for consideration you must be a full, associate, or individual member of the IOA and presenter and principle investigator of the research presented. Only those who submit full papers prior to the Congress will be considered. Papers to be considered for the award are selected by the Congress Scientific Programme Committee (CSPC) from among full papers submitted for presentation at each IOA congress. Papers are judged not only on their scientific content, but also on their presentation at the congress, the latter being judged by a panel comprising of the Congress Scientific Programme Committee and the IOA Scientific Committee. In the event that at the Congress none of the selected papers are considered to be of an appropriate standard, and/or the presentation is also not judged to be of the required standard, no award will be made. The Award: The successful orthoptist, as principal presenter, will have their registration fee for the current congress retrospectively waived. The award will be announced at the Congress Closing Ceremony when a certificate of merit will be presented. | |
